Meet the Teacher!

I want to know ALL about you and your child, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me.  I was born and raised right here in West Hartford, CT.  I knew from the age of 10 that I was destined to be a teacher.  I spent many afternoons playing school with a disgruntled little brother who was far from thrilled to be my first ever student.  Not to worry, I had a wealth of eager and compliant participants (the stuffed animal kind, of course!) who proved to be the ideal class.

I was one step closer to my dream once I earned my BA in psychology with certification in elementary education from Muhlenberg College, located in Allentown, PA.  In the spring of 2013, I joined the Aiken community as a third grade teacher, and I couldn't be more excited to call this school my "home away from home."  Over this past summer, I completed my MA in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Educational Technology from the University of Saint Joseph.

Aside from teaching, I am an avid crafter, shopper, baker, organizer (Yep, someday I might have a blog dedicated to my adventures in home organization!), gym-goer, reader, friend, sister, and daughter.

A few of my favorite things:
  • Favorite Color: Turquoise
  • Favorite Season: A tie between summer and fall!
  • Favorite Food: Any sort of pasta, but I do love a yummy grilled cheese sandwich....
  • Favorite Drink: Rasberry iced tea
  • Favorite Children's Book: Just as Long as We're Together, by Judy Blume
